Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is the best engineering college among the government engineering colleges in Gujarat. In fact, it is the best engineering college in the whole of Gujarat.

Since the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar is one of the newly established IITs, it has a broad infrastructure and all amenities and types of equipment. It's the only IIT other than IIT Jodhpur that has AC hostels. Both schools, hostel areas have air conditioning. The classrooms are filled with smart boards and projectors. The environment of the hostel is very clean. And so far IITGN is the only institute in the country to win the EAT RIGHT award for its 5-star mess food ranking.

Academics: I am pursuing my B Tech in Civil Engineering at IIT GANDHINAGAR. The standard of teaching at IITGN is higher than at other engineering colleges in India. The program is well revised and short courses are offered on the basis of recent advances in the sector. We are taught all the subjects that are required to get our job-ready.

Placements: Placement is only one such item that IITGN is lagging behind other IITs. The largest bundle for the last year was about 31 LPAs. The lowest kit was 8.3 LPA. The average kit at 13-14 LPA is marginally smaller.

Value for money: I'm confident I'm going to get the worth of my investment. Food quality is excellent, the hostel area is tidy and the institute provides us with high-speed internet connectivity. We still have sporting grounds for different sports such as soccer, football and volleyball, etc.

Living on the campus: The greatest part of my life so far is the life of the campus. The best and special aspect of IITGN is that you can book the whole classroom with your I-card. You may also issue a lot of sports equipment by filling up the application form and sending your I card to the guard. The elderly are still very supportive, and there is no case of racketeering on our campus. Then all the rooms have air conditioning, meaning you'll never get sweaty in the month of June.

Anything Else: It's the best campus ever. Both the seniors are really supportive of this. There are even more services of academics rather than professors, e.g. Academic Discussion Hours (ADH) at nights at which senior students clear the concerns of freshmen and sophomores. Then the quality of food is great, and we get special food once a month. While girls and boys have different hostels, boys will go to the girls' hostel, and vice versa.
